The Village of Armadale, Sleat Peninsula, on the Isle of Skye, Inner Hebrides. Featuring the McDonald Centre (center) and the Armadale Car Ferry, the MV Coruisk (Glasgow), operated by Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac), sailing to and from Mallaig on the mainland of Scotland, UK, during the summer. In winter, it operates in the Upper Clyde. The Coruisk has a capacity for 40 cars and 249 passengers. It was built by Appledore Shipbuiders Ltd, Bideford, Devon, in 2003. The ferry foot passengers are met by a City Link bus / coach. The floating ramp at the terminal allows the ferry to operate regardless of the tides. • I am sure it was Lord of the Isles or Clansman last time I took that trip not a little ferry like that

  • The big ferries were bought by a Texican who told a wee local Scotsman that back in Texas, everything was big. It took him nearly four days to drive all the way round his ranch. The wee Scotsman replied that he used to have a car like that but he got rid of it.

  • @pixelrush Texican? LMFAO! Sorry but that's just funny, I don't care who you are.

  • @IMSaura I refer yer guid self to John Wayne in the classic movie The Searchers by John Ford - we be Texicans :)

  • @pixelrush Great quote! But your modern Texan couldn't be a Texican since Texas hasn't been a part of Mexico for hundreds of years. And then there's the Texican of modern vernacular which generally means (in these parts, at least) a Mexican trying to pretend s/he's here legally. Just struck me as very cute and unexpected in your story! :O)

And great video, I'm looking forward to seeing it all for myself in the autumn!

  • Know it all well :-) good visual story-telling and editing

    Iain

  • Brought back happy memories of visits to Armadale whilst on holiday in Glenelg. Great music too -- I have all his available CD`s!

  • yea good ferry but no as good as wir ferries in shetlkand called the Daggri and Dagalien which are identicle double ended ferries as well you should tak a look at them on google images

  • Yes, it used to be Lord of the Isles, but this ship replaced it in 2006(ish).

  • That's quite a big ferry for a small island.
