Carolina was coming into this game 16-1 and ranked no 2. in the nation. Duke on the other hand was 10-9 and 0-7 in the ACC.Mostly because Coach K was out with back problems.It was expected to be cakewalk in Cameron that night for the Tarheels and it was for the "first half of the first half" as UNC jumped out to a 26-9 advantage capped by Jerry Stackhouse's slam and "double foul" underneath the basket.But Duke closed it to five at the half.The Devils caught fire in the second stanza seemingly making everything to go ahead by twelve with about six minutes left to play but Carolina stormed back to take it in to OT.Cameron continued to bake But Carolina had lead of "eight points with seventeen seconds left" Carolina lead 95-92 with three seconds left as UNC center Serge Zwikker had two shots at the line to end it.He missed the first and rimmed out the second.Cherokee Parks for Duke got the rebound and gave to guard Jeff Capel who made a running three pointer to send into a second OT,Carolina eventually pulled it out 102-100.
