Good advice here, I even use 4lb fluoro occasionally, the lakes up here are gin clear and it will get you more strikes then 6 or 8 lb. You just have to take more time to tire the fish out and not horse it to the boat.

@chadmorgenthaler i use a medium light 6'6 grandt and its phenomenal for finnese fishing. feel a fish breathe 20 feet down.

Using straight braid will get you half as many bites as straight fluorocarbon or a leader. I really pefer straight fluorocarbon with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner and I use a smooth drag reel. Good luck!
