  • as a kid growing up in the tacoma scene, we all knew the power blasting from Jerry Miller and Moby Grape. Life has it's moments, and "Millers Blues" is certainly one of them.

Only Stevie Ray Vaughn displays anything like the guts and determination presented on this take. This aren't the eclectic yearnings of some insulated star, these are real live shards of glass from the mirror of Jerry Millers soul smashed for the listener's pleasure."Yeah we all know, Jerry, everybody knoows.. Don Beamish

  • follow this with some Bloomfield and Kooper and enjoy, maybe some Paul Butterfield Blues Band, thats Valium for the ears and soul. Me happy now

  • Incredible song. However if you can get the live version from the Avalon Ballroom, its probably the most intense blues you will ever hear. A much faster deeper and intensive version of this song. This version is fully satisfying as well. Guitar gods at their best all round

  • Moby Grape's Miller's Blues represents a gut-grabbing use of the hook.

  • kikk!!!!

  • lord have mercy

  • NPR's Music online scene talks about "What is a "hook" in pop songs?. One of the best hooks was in Omaha, about 1 min 30 seconds. Now THAT's a rock song's hook if I ever heard one, and it has NOTHING to do with marketing or some schlock like that. It is how fantastic music gets made by fantastic musicians.

God Bless the Grape. If ONLY someone would re-release the entirety of Sly and the Family Stone vinyl "Stand!" - the 13+ minutes of "Sex Machine" is, IMHO the way ALL babies should be made!

  • yeah!

  • Good Tune Bro Goin To The Faves Thx!!!

  • just lay back, close your eyes, EXHALE and enjoy.

  • Agreed, that is Donald Stevenson
