Cool-N-Save is a new "green" product that reduces your air conditioning electric bill by up to 30% each month. Installed in minutes with no tools required a single Cool-N-Save is comparable to 38 CFLs. The Cool-N-Save was recently featured on Living with Ed starring notable green star Ed Begley, Jr.

This thing ruined my outside AC unit. Please don't use this product in areas that have "hard water". I got the idea to purchase this thing off of Ed's TV show. You live and you learn!

  • I don't think ACCommenseSense has actually watched the video. The misting arms are placed to mist away from the AC unit and then the mist will evaporate in the air reducing the surrounding air temperature . You do not mist directly onto your AC unit. Presumably ACCommense has his unit indoors - heaven forbid it rains on the machine whilst it is running. Does having your AC unit outside void the warranty ??

  • @ACCommonSense

I use a tankless water heater so the metal is not sitting in water. However I will look up the information you provided. Thanks for the advice. My warranty is intact.

  • @maica5m

In way no does this product comply with AHRI standards and the warranty surrounding your residential installation

These are the standards that your warranty is written upon and must be complied with for your warranty to remain in force

To learn a little more about metals, heat and water:

Go pull the anode on your water heater, if you have one left

Or Google sacrificial+anode , and extrapolate

  • @ACCommonSense

I have been using the cool-n-save for two years, no aluminum or an other part of my a/c has been eaten.

I have my a/c serviced professionally every year. They see it as beneficial and NO it does not void your warranty.

Where do you get this stuff.

  • @bordens47

Nice mouth dick wad. It uses about 6 cents a day and less if you use extra fine misters. Now do the math again. Do you people try this stuff or do you just like to foam at the mouth and think people will think your smart. And no I don't sell them.

So far none of you complainers have said you tried it an then these things happened.

Read the Tulane University Study. Or better yet try it and if all your statements are still true come back and swear some more.

  • This is a really bad idea as this is what is going to happen

    • the water chemistry is going to EAT the aluminum coils of your a/c unit

    • you’re a/c units warranty will be voided straight away

I will stop there but there are so many reasons not to do this, it is simply silly

    Best case:

This works perfectly for 2 years

    Saves you $50 near term

Resulting in an entire system replacement, cost $5000

Folks please do not do this

  • 1.4 gallons an hour that would be at least 10-15 gallons a day, 400+ gallons of water each month but lower my electric bill? Dude you are a fucking tool. One lower bill and a higher water/sewer bill. Fucking Obama tool you are bitch.

  • @mlupan Check the website. Water treatment is explained.

  • @TinsleyCarmichael According to the website the price is very minimal. Less than 6 cents per day.
