  • Denny Newell's wrong on a couple things. First, a LOT of the parade has changed since 1972. The current (or most recent) parade started in 1977, and the soundtrack was also from 1977. The 1972 parade mostly consisted of flat floats and a primitive remix of Baroque Hoedown rather than a new arrangement.

And... new technology? The "new" music is 8 years old. It's from Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights, started in 2001. The "new" "music" is cold and lifeless. Disappointing, Disney.

  • HATE it! Sounds wayyy too techno and computer generated. Although old, the original 1972 soundtrack was AMAZING and should have been left! I'm all down with the new floats but this music is just horrible!!!

  • By "mixed a lot better using new technology," he meant comepltely re-recorded without any use of the original Perrey-Kingsley version. Terrible.

  • I really hate this soundtrack, gives the parade a full-blooded Asian feel to it. With the parade in this format I'm glad it's going to Florida. When they decide to bring the parade back to the place it really belongs (& I'm not saying DCA), dump the Asian soundtrack & resurrect the Blue Fairy!

  • @Lyght55 Denny isn't the only one who's wrong,if you have the CD that was released in '01 the credits for the Cinderella,Dumbo & Finale all have a date of '72 when in fact it was first used i "71 as the first soundtrack for the Electrical Water Pageant in Florida

  • That's cool. Well hey next time you see Denny, tell him it was very smart to bring the Dreamlights version of baroque hoedown to the classic parade. it made it feel brand new like when it first premiered in 1972.

  • I COMPLETELY agree! I think Disney should have respected the fact that the music belonged to DREAMLIGHTS! "Disney's Electrical Parade" is not exactly the same as TDEP by any measure. The music should have stayed the same.

  • and the reason why im backing him up is that im a Costumer for the Parade

  • I second what you're saying/ Sure I enjoyed the original music, but bringing the Tokyo Electrical Parade Dreamlights music was very clever through Disney's thinking. I do miss the blue fairy and dumbo, but I enjoyed the tinkerbell float when i saw it last month, and seeing the dwarf diamond mine and pinnochio unit in nearly thirteen years. Besides I believe that disney will bring back the dumbo and blue fairy floats and keep what they did for the summer.

  • Stop your BITCHIN People!!!!!! Yes the Music has Changed, but it keeps with they style that was created in 1972. Disney has to keep up with the Current Technology. This new Music is actually better since you can hear it more clearly. Yes Blue Fairy is Gone, but at the Same Time, and I will Back Denny on this. Tink is Popular, and she will be Popular for the next 3 years, since they are keeping to the History, that a Fairy Light, Lights the Way

  • Only two things about the new parade bother me:

    1) Blue fairy isn't leading the way, but i can deal with that. AND

    2) The music was changed from A Flat Major to G Major. I wouldn't have minded the update so much if they didn't change the key of the music. It's just irritating to hear. When i saw it June 24th, i wanted to like, magically transpose the key signature back to the way it was :P

  • I, for one, enjoy this type of music, which is why I enjoy the new parade so much, but it sounds much better live than on a CD, like the one in the video. It is called the Electrical Parade, after all.
