  • Please all stand for the Shmup National Anthem! :)

They don't want it really easy.... but they don't get how you're suppose to experience the games.

Most reviewers bash them for being short, though they used continues. Common sensed players will ignore them to 1CC a game, which is truely rewarding if accomplished. Sometimes, they skip the most importants, like the scoring system, the way you power-up, the strategy, and all that. Atleast, we know that there are still alot of people who know how to enjoy arcade shooters still :)

I never find myself playing games from my generation, i find other games from before much better! they should go bacj to basics, they only really pay attention to the graphics. they also want an easy experience its much more satisfying to play a game that gave you a challenge. both radiant silvergun and ikaruga (the sequel released on dreamcast and gamecube) feel better to play than call of duty or all that! just try and try again. they just prefer an easy win and flashy graphics!

  • @Corad4 Oh yeah its beatable but let me tell you... It seems as if its completely unbeatable at first.. Its one of those games that, if you PERSIST, it gives you a glimmer of hope as patterns and techniques reveal themselves..

Its definitely one of the hardest shooters I've ever played. Plus the soundtrack is just excellent. By the time you reach the last boss the music just escalates and then very excellently subsides. It leaves you completely psyched. To be honest... There's nothing like it.

Reviewers said it was too hard. lol

I have never really played the game, I did heard it was hard, but beatable (learning patterns and strategizing, like any shmup!). It's sad that today, most new school gamers don't appreciate titles like this because it isn't ''new school''.

  • such a fantastic game, definitely needs more recognition....especially since its on x box live now!

  • Because 3 minutes just wasn't enough...

  • @FlagshipOnionhead And some of the parts are, the same actually. But from my own meager efforts at composition, I know one good melody isn't impressive, it's finding integrity / continuity building progression from there that's impressive. And that's the thing for me with this OST, it really defines emotional continuity..

Thanks for not getting defensive, it's just a criticism that seems to keep cropping up. But this music has so much wonderful texture under those more obvious surface features.

Without rehashing the issue of leitmotifs, I'll just say you aren't truly hearing the totality of the music then.

"Rehash" is an absurd term in this case. A handful of phrases and rhythms, adeptly weaving continuity through emotionally evolving (if also subtly so) and and very pertinent progressions, in no sense qualifies as rehashing.

Or in plainer terms, you just don't get it. *shrug*
