I was glad to hear that you hunt for the meat, there is a big difference between a hunter and a sportsman.

A scrap is usually made not only for territory but when the rut starts they'll make a scrap and then does will come along and piss in it to let the bucks no they are ready to make fawns lol. I saw a doe even crap on a scrap once lol.

Be sure to check your local game laws. I don't know of any state in the U.S. that allows hunting with a .22 rim fire. I also suggest you take a hunter's safety course before you go hunting. They'll advise you on the local laws and safe practices for firearms.
Be safe and have fun.

ok im a beginner hunter and im 13 so i need to know what kind of gun i need my uncle says i need a .240 and my friends say i need a .270 can someone help me

@PickleOnFire
I'm no expert but I say listen to your Uncle. A .243 will do the job without a doubt if you place your shots correctly and it won't have the kick that the .270 will which is important. To much kick often times will make you involuntarily flinch which will cause inaccuracy and that's not good for you or the deer. A .243 is a flat shooter and crazy accurate for the distances you'll be shooting while hunting.
Be careful and God bless,

do you think after breeding season that bucks may still hang around the same general area as a scrape?
