  • In 1952 I was a founder member of Doncaster Central RRC and in 1954 we arranged our first Simpson Trophy road race, named after our President. In 1955 our second Simpson Trophy road race was won by Tommy Simpson - unfortunately the club folded in the early 1960's as we were mostly in our late teens and had to do National Service. However, we had a reunion two weeks ago when 18 former members attended.

  • When I was a kid, in like the early 80's I had that Peugot, the EXACT BIKE. It was given to my dad or something. It was too big for me, but I rode it a bit. I have no idea what happened to it...

  • ik heb juist het boek gekocht van, mont ventoux * de berg van de waanzin * , tot mijn verbijstering lees ik dat de schrijver stelt dat Tom een pastis had gedronken vlak voor berg in 1 herberg , en dat alleen de doping Tom de dood injoeg .Dat Tom moest presteren op die berg was een feit , anders zakte zijn waarde voor de criteriums .Hier hoor je dan een ander verhaal dat volgens mij meer aanleunt bij de waarheid .
