@PissyGranny That's not what taxation without representation means. You've been provided the opportunity for representation through democracy, but you have to elect a person to represent you.
I think it's a pretty big misconception about politics to expect the opposite party to accommodate for your views when they don't have to, since they were elected by a majority that don't agree with you.
