In this video, Al Tkatch is documenting (with a Nokia N95 mobile cameraphone) April Smith livestreaming (using Livecast software on the HTC Touch Camera phone) an interview with Earle Peach.
He is a renowned Vancouver composer, singer, musician, conductor, consultant and very valuable to our DTES community for many film and television projects, musicals, local choral groups, for Fearless City Mobile W stories Phase 2 for the Heart of the City Festival in Vancouver.
Earle Peach delights us with the stories of how people, places and things change with the humor, wisdom and insight for being active in our Vancouver Downtown Eastside (DTES) community over the years and helps inform us with his stories.
We were set up outside in the patio area of a restaurant in Commercial Drive where we were concerned with light and sound issues.
Luckily for us, the weather was mild and the light from the restaurant illuminated Earle's face well enough for the livestreaming images to transmit and for our audience members to see and hear on the mobile screen
We as a team were very acutely aware of any possible sound issues, and felt very privileged that Earle a most excellent and accomplished singer and actor knew how to direct and project his clear speaking voice into the microphone for the Livestreaming HTC Touch phone to pick up on for our mobile audience
As the team leader of this peer learning experience and group, April peer trains Al and Susan and helps facilitates the process of learning the mobile technology in accordance with LiveCast software being used and makes sure to keep the image on the HTC Touch cameraphone of the interview nice and steady.
During the interview with Earle, April uses text messaging on a mobile cameraphone to stay in touch with the mobile screen animateurs to communicate audience's questions and ideas to the interviewer and guest. She uses SMS and MMS text messaging on the phone to also take cues and direction from the screen animateurs to pay attention to certain things such as camera angles.
April in a peer training role to this team, sits behind the HTC touch camera making sure the LiveCast Livestreaming is working and helps coordinate a smooth interview process with much encouragement to Susan and Al for their great hard work and through demonstration and ample awareness of each team member, all members of the team peer train and peer learn from each other about mobile technology through the Fearless City Mobile Project
