The Last Steam Engine Train -- John Fahey wrote this fingerpicking piece and released it on his early album The Dance Of Death And Other Plantation Favorites in the early 1960s. In the original liner notes Fahey said this about it- "The Last Steam Engine Train combines elements of white mountain music, Stephen Foster and Nashville rock and roll. It is assured great hostility." Leo Kottke also recorded his own arrangement on Greenhouse.
