i think both the composer's intention and the artist interpretation are equally important and there must be equal attention paid to both aspects.

Just like ANYONE saying they know what makes a performance the "best" one at all lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing with you, but I am saying that pretty much all the heated emotions on this board are due to the same thing...someone ELSE criticizing a specific performance they personally find to be the most emotionally connecting rendition, IN THEIR OPINION. ^_^
