People of Guadeloupe resisted French colonial agression in 1802 when Napoleon Bonaparte sent military force to crash the revolutionary process which also started in Haiti in 1791 His objective was to reestablish slavery which was abolished by the people themselves in 1793 just like in Haiti. Again in May 1967 French coercive forces massacred a significant number of citizen at strike on that Caribbean island. We must remember these events since we have a responsibility with future generatons.

great document. I've been living out of guadeloupe for over 14 years now and every time that I talk about the guadeloupe situation everyone is agree: even it could be chaos, starvation, or become very poor guadeloupe must become independent for its people sake. guadeloupean can not really walk forward if they do not have a goal. stop blaming the white man for all diseases, be brave, built your own future.
yes we want our freedom. The french government gave us the illusion of inclusion. many people called themselves french but in reality there no such thing. black in France cant get good jobs and have to travail to other countries to work. am in England i have cousin who live in the USA Canada so on because we could find work with our degree and master degree. and for the people who believe that we do not have a economy think again Barbados is smaller but has a very good economy
I am guadeloupean, the inhabitants of Guadeloupe do not want independence because our economy is weak. but all the Inhabitant of Guadeloupe dream of independence but unfortunately its will remain always one dream because the French government does not do anything so that the Guadeloupe develops and becomes autonomous economic and politically
