"In India for centuries newborn baby girls are dying after their birth. In Tamil Nadu, the southest part of India, unwanted babies are being killed even today. In remote villages killing of babies (infanticide) is common. It is practised in the name of tradition, superstition and poverty".

Testimony:
"I didn't want to kill my daughter. But neighbors came and told me: "You have three girls, you have to kill one. Two are enough. How are you going to feed and marry them?"
My family used to say that girls are useless.
But I couldn't kill her. She was gorgeous, very beautiful. She was destined to die... She was born in our house in 4 am. Our neigbors said "we'll kill her with smoke solution". They prepared a solution with crushed smoke plant leaves. I didn't want to do it. In the morning I prayed to God and I gave her one spoon of the smoke solution. I was misable. I lied next to her but couldn't look at her. The baby didn't die at once, I died in the evening. When I saw it was still alive, I couldn't bear it anymore - I told my mother to save her, to give her sugarwater so as to wake up. My mother gave her with her hands but it was too late... She died... My mother buried her in the garden behind our house. I couldn't do it myself. Later I planted flowers and a tree in that spot. She would have been 10 years old today. I never forgot about her. It is impossible. How can I ever forget her... (sigh)

In Tamil Nadu 3.000 newborn girls are being killed every year. It is illegal according to be law with a maximum penalty of life time prison term but authorities haven't been able to eliminate the practise of infanticide. Here there is still a wide-spread belief that if you kill your daughter, the next child will be a boy.

  • @mistymarieification1 you went through a truly sad childhood, and it saddens me that in that a girl child in many cultures is treated as less than human. But you are grown now, and be thankful you are still around, maybe you are the one who can make a difference. God put you here and saved you for a reason. I believe that the fact you survived, shows your strength and will to live. You are a good loving person and no one is better than you, not even the savages parents. God Bless you My Dear.

  • I really thought that evil practice of murdering baby girls were outlawed in India, it seems its still practice. As many of you stated women are the giver of life, many Hindus worship the cow, and treat them reverence, yet murdering little babies is ok in their insane mind. Where the hell are all those childrens organization. Interpol or any international crime busting organization need to intercede. STOP KILLING LITTLE BABIES

  • In "civilized" countries 1000's of childs are killed everyday and nobody talks about it. Yeah...they are unborn victims and the murder is sometimes called "voluntary pregnancy termination"; no matter how many euphemisms we use, there's no difference between killing an unborn baby and killing a newborn.

  • "We are born of woman, we are conceived in the womb of woman, we are engaged and married to woman. We make friendship with woman and the lineage continued because of woman. When one woman dies, we take another one, we are bound with the world through woman. Why should we talk ill of her, who gives birth to kings? The woman is born from woman; there is none without her. Only the One True Lord is without woman" (Guru Nanak, Var Asa, pg. 473)

  • for what sin or crime were all those baby girls slain? Tell us, ain't you fearing God in the judgment day?

    Shame on you all.

  • wheres the fucking subtitles~!!!!!

  • My parents wanted a son, but they got me instead. I was the oldest. It would have been nice to have been given the courtesy of infanticide, if they didnt want me. It would have saved me years of abuse, neglect and emotional scarring that I will never get over. Because I was born in the 70's my parents didnt know I was a girl until the moment I was born while they looked at my genitals in disappointment, and me in disadin for 18 years. Infanticide would have saved me this hurt.
