@skipperdoodification Context be damned - this is WAY off. I guess you can spin anything to make a point. Arguing that Orwell "woke us up to the need to fight totalitarianism and socialism" is questionable at best considering Orwell's political beliefs that he vehemently fought for. The fact that the word "and" is in between doesn't make the argument true. You should be able to understand that - instead you chose to be condescending. Take your revisionist history somewhere else.

@kzilla2001 Yes, Orwell was a socialist. He was also anti-totalitarian. Considered in context, the phrase used in this video -- "socialism and totalitarianism" -- clearly references the Stalinist model of "socialism" (so-called). But you knew that, didn't you? Ah, I love the way the internet empowers all the world's anonymities to be pissants.

Uh... Orwell made a stand against socialism? Orwell WAS a socialist. He fought and almost died for it in Spain.
