Oh,I forgot to mention something earlier. Ours was not a convertible like your is. Does this car have an automatic transmission or stick shift? Just curious. It does sound and drive nice.

We had a 1962 Pontiac Tempest white 2-door sedan while living in Florida from 1969 to '71 when I was a little boy. My dad was in the Air Force and got it sometime after we got there. I kind of miss that little car even though I was a little squirt then! This video brings back some good memories for me!

From the looks of the front grille and hood, I believe you have a 1961 Tempest,not a '62.In fact I still have the owners manual from the one I drove.The 1962 has similar but definitely redesigned front end.It won "the car of the year" award for it's innovations.It's engine is the Pontiac 389 V8 sliced right down the middle.It's displacement is 194.5 CI (194.5 x 2 = 389!!) ,with the slanted orientation.
