I used to do this when I was about 6, haven't done it for 8 years or so but this helped me to remember all the moves! Thanks! Your girls are fantastic :D
I'm an irish and highland dancer... FOR THE RECORD:
That wasn't an irish dance movement at the beginning. There's a move in highland called the reel movement which is very similary to irish "3's", she was just doing a younger-kid version of it... made it look more irish.
I'm a highland dancer, I know that... I mean the actuall track name. Also you left out the part that if a dancer/soldier touches the sword while dancing, they were to be wounded in battle, should the dancer kick and jar the sword while dancing, they were fated to die.
The sword dance was thought to be done before battles, it signifies the protection of oneself fron all directions. The sword tips thus pointing East West and South North. Also supposed to keep warrior safe from evil spirits. =)
I'm agreeing with ickleblueger here, every champion dancer I know ties them around the arch.

I've taken Highland for eight years, since I was little, and I think these girls are really good. Where do they learn it?
