Magda Olivero - Io son l'umile ancella (1965 live)

What has been called Magda Olivero's greatest ever performance of Adriana. The supporting cast isn't quite the caliber of that in the 1959 Naples production, but Olivero easily makes up for all this and then some. The usually more quiet and reserved Amsterdam audience gives her a thuderous ovation following her entrance aria here.

Cilea himself considered Olivero the ideal Adriana and it was his dying wish for her to come out of retirement to sing the role for him again.
