@youamuseme1 go with the i5 1TB. that way if you actually for some reason do need a i7 in your desktop you can upgrade that later on for less money. but i dont understand why you are buying a prebuilt desktop. just build your own and save a couple hundred bucks. its really not that hard to build a pc, knowing how a pc works is the hard part.

im planning getting a HP PC. theres to different version. the cheaper one features an i5 intel with 1TB 7200RPM, the other version is an i7 intel with 2TB 5400RPM. will it show any difference or the same tranfers rate? o-o

i'm glad the difference isn't greater since I just purchased a laptop with a 5400rpm harddrive. Doesn't look like that big of a deal, especially considered the desktop I'm coming from (which belongs in 2002)

@nativus222 Slower speeds are more reliable over a long period of time, not to say that the 7200 doesn't last long, but the 5400 will just last longer.

@TonyBudy123 In a sense, yes it does. They run hand in hand when it comes to speed of a computer. If you want a faster computer, you upgrade your processor and your HDD. If you have a slow HDD and a fast processor, you cant go any faster than what the HDD will allow, even if the processor wants to. If you have a fast HDD and a fast processor, then you'll have fast speeds all around.
