in the past few days i got some of the equipment for my 60 gallon aquarium. in this video i show you my ATI sunpower 36 in 8 bulb t5 light fixture with 6 10,000k and 1 420 actinic and a 460 actinic. the fans on the light fixture are a little bit too loud for me, im hoping that they quiet down after running for a while. my 2 vortech mp 10 pumps are amazing, they push so much water and are very gentle. at first the pumps were very loud but they quieted down after a few hours. i tried to make a wave with my 2 pumps but i failed :( i think i need the wireless version so that i can sync them in order to make a wave, but if anyone knows how to make a wave with out wireless pumps that would be awsome if you could help me. if i cant make waves im fine just having the pumps facing eachother at full blast. next is the cpr hob refugium all i can say is it looks sexy lol, very well built except for one thing which is the support that presses against the aquarium glass to keep it level. after finally paying attention in physcis class i noticed that the screw pushing against the glass is so small and the weight of the water in the hob refugium is 5 gallons there will be alot of pressure against the glass in such a small place, so i was worried that over time my aquarium might crack, hopefully not! and my eshopps overflow looks nice. i dont know how well it works yet but ive heard that there is a noise issue but that can be sloved easilly by sticking a peice of tubing down the drain hole. and last but not least is my bulk reef supply RO/DI system. i love this thing! it came with a few options for the source of water i chose to pierce the cold water copper pipe below my sink(permanent unless i want to replace my copper pipe). for the input and output of the RO part the tubes are very long! actually too long but i cut those but the tubing coming out of the DI stage is so short, so i have to put my 32 gallon bucket in the bathroom while collecting water, parents are not too happy with that. thanks for watching! and also thanks for reading this lol i bet half of you are lazy and didnt want to read all this but its okay keep watching and if you could give me your opinion on my set up that would be great.

  • that ain't 60 gallon or my aquarium is bigger than i thought because i thought i got a 60G tank and it looks bigger than yours

  • @spartanst22 its 60 gallons

  • Looks great. You're certainly on the right track. Just a question on the controller.....have you looked into an apex system? I know they're a lil more expensive, but they have a lot more control and options that are working now.

  • @1mkwiet thanks! and yes the neptune apex controller was going to be my first choice because as you said it has many options and i really wanted to be able to control my aquarium away from home because i will be going away to college in 2012 and my parents dont know anything about saltwater aquariums. but i chose the reef keeper lite because it also had many options and was more affordable than the apex.

  • dang you spent quite some money for a 60 gallon tank. but its all gonna be worth it in the end. good job

  • @newyorksteelo yea your right i guess i just didnt pay attention to what the wireless ones can do and non wireless ones cant do lol. just a minor set back but thats okay. thanks for the help

  • @360treflipskater360 You can but the shutting on an off of your pumps will destroy the pumps. These pumps were designed to alternate from high to low setting without shutting them off, to conserve the life of the pump. Honestly, if I were you, and I knew I was going to have 2 mp10's, I would get the wireless ones. You can also buy the upgrade to wireless in the near future for 60 bucks or something like that. Good luck.

  • @newyorksteelo ohh yea i have another question. instead of upgrading to the wireless could i just use the wavemaker mode on the reefkeeper lite which i plan on getting?

  • @newyorksteelo ohh okay well i can just turn the pumps down a little bit if i notice the corals are unhappy and if my sand bed is moving. ill be on the lookout dont worry

  • @360treflipskater360 Mine were always wireless cause a constant alternating flow without sync can cause blasting of the corals and sand. Both synced together work beautifully. I have a video on the cycle coming out tomorrow so be on the lookout for that video.
