I was told that doing vibrato on fretless hurt the instrument, the wise thing to do is sliding up and down D:

I love how he has the bass flipped upside down because of his lefti-ness. Best new bass player imo.
-
Well it depends on the starting point... I'm going from a lefty position. And I actually just realised: It doesn't seem to be his usual bass, if you check he's other vids (don't know, maybe borrowed it last min. so he could do the vid). But I'm pretty sure you got it... smartass, hahaha : )!
Cheers!

First time hearing him; start off thinkin', well I'm not really into metal but this is good stuff. Then I'm hearing some very competent playing in other genres as well. Nice melodic and rhythmic ideas. He's obviously comfortable playing at a high level in many styles; metal, jazz, rock, whateva.

@Vinterless Oh, that explains it all... almost. Why the hell would they tell him to record with another bass, and worse, a weird one xD?
I haven't watched the oher video, will do soon. Thanks for the info! :D
And I laughed at the last line :P

@dancekvndance i know intronaut isnt djent im just saying djent got dumb fast. sorry that i got off topic

@apalmalarrain If you read the description on the other EMG TV video featuring this guy you will notice that he is not playing HIS bass. This is a bass EMG provided for him in order to record the video. He actually uses a Pedulla Pentabuzz Lefty. That said, I think this ZON sounds better xD

@TheMandalic If the pickups are inverted and the strings too, then their relative position remains the same. (?)
Haha, just messing ;) I'm not a bassist, but I get what you mean.. I just think he could have ordered a lefty bass with reversed pickups as you say and get the same effect rather than getting a righty in the first place. Having the knobs right in the middle of your arm must be pretty uncomfortable, too... Pretty weird decision in my opinion :P
-
Nope, I'm pretty sure the pups are inverted as well (watch closer) : )! Meaning, the parts that should pick the lower sounding strings are actually facing down, instead of up (Hendrix used that technique, so does Frusciante as well).
-
@TheMandalic Being a lefty, just slapping the standard pickups in a lefty bass would have yielded the same effect, so there must be another reason for that... It's really weird xD
@chrisalfeus progressive sludge if anything. Djent, this is not.

@brayant152h You must be deaf then. His bass is very noticeable and I'm listening on laptop speakers.
