Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I can honestly say that almost all of us feel the exact same way. "We have been abandoned by our own country. Shut up and send us somebody."
Six days I lived in New Orleans after Katrina. No where to go. No one we can get help from. No food. No water. No electricity or contact to the outside world. You waited until the National Guard came to your house and told you where to go. Everything was completly bungled.

Katrina was absolutely an INSIDE JOB. Just like 9/11 and now the financial collapse is an Inside Job. Ben Livingston "father of weather weapons" has blown the whistle on using weather as a weapon. This was a Dept. of Energy operation.

If he embellishing, that still doesn't take away from the fact the government response to Katrina was shameful.

sounds like warfare to me

The biggest fear now is not the catastrophe, it is the government's response to it.

I live 200 feet away from the levee in Jefferson Parish. The pumps did not cause the flooding, a levee access road that was sandbagged was breached and caused flooding. Within 3 weeks after the storm, political operatives from the other party were scheming to remove him from office and asking my support. It was disgraceful to make a scapegoat of this man. Anyone who criticizes without being here or knowing what went on is a coward and misguided opportunist. He is a hero for his dedication.

I live in Jefferson parish and I have to say that was a hard time for everyone..

I remember watching this on TV. I still feel this is the most deplorable incident on TV I have ever seen in my life. You are watching a man breaking down right before your eyes in this 5:11 second of a video. I truly felt sorry for this man and what he was going through.

Broussard is a democrat, not a Republican
Does anyone yet have an answer to why FEMA cut the emergency communication lines? Anyone want to speculate on a legitimate reason for an action like that. I have, I got nothing. Illegitimate reasons, I can think of a good one.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
It was his fault that East Jefferson Parish flooded when he made the pump operators leave so the pumps were not operating , the people of jefferson parish talk about oh we cant wait until election day to vote him out of office and yet in 2007 what do they do they vote him back in how stupid can they be

Aaron Broussard sent the Jefferson Parish pump operators out of harm's way because their stations weren't built to withstand such storms.
It was protocol. They knew they were going to get hit hard, USGS told them. I don't know where you get your information, but you should dig deeper.

I am confused. He says he closed a breach on his side of the 17th st canal. Huh? There was no breach on the Jeff side. Why lie ? To divert attention from his foolish mistake of sheltering workers 2hrs away instead of 2 blocks away at East Jeff with several hundred nurses and doctors. Republicans can never be gracious and admit they screwed up and bow out with dignity - "I am not a crook" is just one example. Arrogance....that's his crime.

There was a breach on his side of 17th.
Where did you get your information that there wasn't? I've seen video interviews with some of the guys who helped fix it. Search around online... Local news. You don't seem to know the whole story. Yes, he was misinformed about his associates mother's death.
