Well to all these comparisons of powerful ninja, I would say that no two powerful ninja would really want to fight. Even if there powers are far from each others, the potential for injury would be too great. Let's just say these two ninjas can kill 1000's of people. hmm itachi isn't the "best" each generation has their hero and great ninjas. if you want to compare you compare jiraiya to tsunade, orochimaru, or some other ninja of his time. like madara compared to 1st hokage. naruto compared to neji, sasuke, sakura, ino, kiba or sai. if you want to know itachi's strength compare him to someone like nagato, kabuto, kakashi, and most of akatsuki. you get the point. what you are doing now is like saying who is smarter einstein or newton. give respect to each

pain defeated jiraiya and pain was defeated by none in a fight. naruto had to activate his 9 tail and sage mode and had to talk it out to persuade pain. so jiraiya losing to pain was no surprise. itachi battle sasuke was also intentional lost. but reality is itachi's jutsu are not meant to fight sages so itachi is in disadvantage. his eye wont work on the frogs fused to jiraiya. just like susano jiraiya even has more summons. so the writer decided not to show us one sided battle.

@werepyrekingshadow firstly that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, in case you were not aware, many of Itachi's strongest moves drain him, Jiraiya's sage mode would blitz itachi, you seem to be under the delusion that Itachi made an excuse?, we all know that Itachi loved Sasuke, yet he tortured and nearly killed his brother in the presence of Kisame. What is to stop him attacking Jiraiya, , in case you did not know Itachi and K were trapped in J man's jutsu, J man had the advantage

@Shadowhkr watch i think episode 85 or somewhere around there and wen itachi and kisame meet jiraiya itachi said that the both of them wouldnt be able to defeat him thats y they ran away
