Pretty sure leaving trains unattended while running is already covered by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) along with keeping areas locked up that personal is only suppose to have access to. No new laws are required just enforcement of the ones already there.

What if terrorists put bombs on buses!? Bombs that were activated when the bus went over 30mph and detonated when the bus dropped below 30mph!?.....nope, wait a minute, that's "Speed" isn't it.

There was a bomb sniffing dog on my train yesterday. They didn't have any baggage checks, patdowns, pron scans, etc... Just a dog. I was a bit surprised by the dog but that was it.

I'm just glad they didnt go full TSA rape. I can tolerate a dog going up and down the carts once everyone has boarded. Even though i think at that point the terrorists would already have a bomb on the train so its like moot lol.

If someone was to put a bomb on a train, wouldn't they place the bomb on one of the flammable cars? And if they did do that, what would locking the cab of the engine do to stop that? Also that reverser doesn't seem to be all that complicated to duplicate and as for locking the cab, well it seems that it's in the middle of nowhere and I'm guessing that the window isn't all that shatter-proof.

Not to mention a quick search for hijacked trains in the U.S. didn't turn up much.
