@ScourgeofInfidels I agree

This is why people hated the film, its controversial subject matter. Why can't they just judge it as a film with many historical errors? And if Braveheart dealt with a huge controversy than I bet that would have been met negatively also.
So Shut Up with the arguments and enjoy the movie's beauty! It's a fucking movie, not a History Lesson you retards

Oh for the love of GOD!!! Stop fucking arguing and admire this beautifully filmed scene

Columbus was a christian. But anyway what I was pointing out is that many times in Hollywood movies I've seen the spanish ethnicity confused with the wrongly named "latin" ethnicity of the south americans. One clear and astonishing example is "Vantage point" of dennis quaid, filmed in mexico pretending it was spain XD To the eyes of a spaniard it's like using reserve cherokees to play the role of scottish warriors in Braveheart. Funny, but unreliable.
Uh, Columbus wasn´t particularly evil or mean for a man of this time. He had the same mentality regarding non european people than any other contemporary european.
Actually , some spanish friars and noblemen even questioned the threatment natives were receiving and fought for their rights and freedom. Centuries later the British empire did the same without any remorse, and americans keep celebrating Thanksgiving day (almost as hypocritical as Columbus day). Who´s the evil douchebag here?
