STAR VAWT model 4.0

Stator wings have a larger angle to wind hiding the rotator largely. Wings of rotator have smaller angle to wind to reduce pressure buildup. Air comes in at a larger radial distance on the rotator increasing speed of rotator.

Yes, because the gusts of wind were stronger in spring time. Model 4.1 turns best.

Don't know yet. I am experimenting with small motor where the axis with a small wheel touches the bottom plate. Any idea is wellcome.

I learned the hard way. My first model took days to build, did finally not work and still takes a lot of space in my garage.

The material used here is carton and paper. Goes fast. Good for testing a geometry.

Juste mon avis : Pour un minimum de frottement et d'encombrement, je ferais bien un essai avec un ventilateur de plafond , entièrement modifié et rembobiné bien sur (une seule série de bobines ). Aimants Néodyme minimum 8mm épaisseur.

It looks awesome, I never thought of building it out of carton. Now that you did, I'll build a few configuration and test the efficiency of the VAWT.
