I worked weapons on the A-10 in Woodbridge England. Saw it come back with holes throughout during the first Gulf War. The CBU's (cluster bombs) have many different munitions inside, some explode when they get a certain distance from ground, others lay mines, still others explode upon impact. The gun used to have a 4200/2100 rounds per minute switch, now it is set at 3900 RPM. Notice the gun is offset...it only fires from the 7'oclock barrel, which is right under the pilot.

@50CaliberElliot the a-10 is is the only plane thats been retired for 20ish years that is still top of the kill list they just cant keep her away she is the BEST looking plane ever

built in my mind anyway and the apache is an a-10 with chopper blades i have a freind in the canadien forces for 12 years and he said when you want shit done call in these guys!! thumbs up to that!! got some!...lol

@Sangrex2 Definatly not clusters, the explode in mid-air for one and two, (iirc), they are some type of molten copper . . er, bombs that can pierce heavy armor. I think i seen it on the military channel once. I just cant remember the name of it :/
