the only reason y there is poverty is BECAUSE of capitalism. it isnt because we lack resources or productive capacity. it is because capitalism allocates our production so unequally

for the record, my biz degree required just as many graduate level economics courses as biz courses. i worked for the fed and as an investment banker and have owned businesses.

plus economics and political science is a hobby of mine so ive read more books and listened to more thinkers on the subject than i can ever remember.

so im pretty well informed

i dont advocate soviet communism but their socialist system provided a higher standard of living to russians than their current capitalist system. they had higher incomes, rates of literacy, life expectancy. 25% now live below subsistence, 0% did in 1991. suicide rates have doubled

a recent pew poll said a large majority of russians want to return to communism

And the incentive to do science comes not just from a love of science and invention but from being paid to do science and in some cases being paid directly based on your performance. The incentive to do science does not come from capitalism.

The only thing capitalism does is just allocate our wealth unequally

u dont need capitalism in order to have free trade or markets where consumers dictate what's produced
