@sabres0 Well you can try standing in the open or crowding cover while someone shoots at you... see how that works.

Just curious, not meaning this as ridicule, but when does a civilian ever find themselves in a gunfight where cover is necessary?

@Flumphinator Well there are two responses to this question. Both are correct: A) cover will increase your chances of survival in ANY gunfight, so if you are in a gunfight as a civilian you should know how to use cover properly. B) I have the general philosophy that every free person should work towards some basic combat skills, useful in an uncertain future.

I agree completely with theis video, but i will say that while these positions are best you can be flanked easier and be forced to hug the cover.

@stanthema always be prepared to improvise, sometimes when clearing obstacles you have to crowd cover too. I can only offer generalizations and hope you understand their application.

@Flumphinator how often does a civilian find themselves in a hand to hand combat? Just because you may never need to know it dosn't mean it isn't worth knowing. better to know it and not need it then need it and not know it

@Flumphinator cover is always preferable to standing in the open.. if you ccw then youd be better off ducking behind somthing or giveing yourself some kind of protection for your body.

@Flumphinator Imagine Russia or China finally decides to wage war on us. You happen to stumble upon the body of military personnel or a Police officer. You figure, the Ivans or Chinos are gonna kill me whether I'm a combatant or not; and if the time comes where I have the chance to save my own life or another persons... You should have the confidence to pick up a gun and defend yourself. Whether it be a thug or an invading Army.. or zombies.
