@TRTC360 I've seen this video over and over a few times,and I thought the same about the tire smoke.The only thing i can come up with is that a softer rubber tire was used that day??

Nowadays, NHRA is kind of boring, to say the least; those nitro funny cars and top fuel cars aren't allowed to run the full 1/4 mile; there's no burnout contests; no pit crew challenges; no innovations (like what "Big Daddy" Don Garlits had)...
Rather, what we see is too many "Force's daddy's little girls shows!"

Anybody remember the headbutting he and Coil used to have over the half track burnouts. Coil said the car didn't need it and all John was doing was being tough on the parts. John said the fans paid to see a show plus he just loved doing burnouts. They came up with a tune up that works for them both. John ALWAYS has a stout hot rod. I see him race four times a year and he's still takin' it out to half track. He's the greatest funny car pilot to ever strap in. Love to see him run top fuel though.
