The Chinese New Year Parade has become a highlight of Lunar New Year celebrations in Hong Kong since its inauguration in 1996. Every year, the event brings attraction for local residents as well as overseas visitors. In 2009, total 39 performing elements including local and overseas decorative floats and performing groups took part in the parade under the theme of " World's Happiest Party".
Knack Cordial Folk Group (http://knackcordial.mysinamail.com/english/knackcordial_folkdance_e.html) performed a Hungarian dance ' Somogyi üveges' in the 2009 Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade on 26 Jan 2009. The cheerful dance is originated from Somogy, a district in the mid-southern part of Hungary. Dancers had applied flashing bottles and flower bouquets in enriching the elements of the dance, bringing joyfulness and colour to this joyful Lunar New Year night parade. Choreographer: Kenneth Tse
