@ajerojason whether we should help these countries IS the issue of this video. But anyway, these people cook their food, don't you think? You boil water for the same reasons you cook meat, to kill the parasites in it.
And, if trees can't grow there, then neither can food, so as the late great Sam Kinison once said in his comedy act, don't send them food (or filters), send them U-Hauls, because they need to MOVE WHERE THE FOOD IS!!! YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT!! lol (video's in my fav's)

@BRYAN351 @BRYAN351 Listen, whether we should even bother to help other countries is a separate issue. I actually understand what you're saying on that topic. A lot of the problems in other countries is systemic and cultural.
But boiling all their drinking water is not a viable option. Honestly, think about the amount of fire you would need to boil water for even one family........just do me one favor, watch the video again and count the number of trees you see and talk to me again.

@ajerojason well of course a water treatment system that uses chlorine is more efficient, but I'm talking about people who live in primitive 3rd world conditions, that don't have a vast water treatment system. For families in those countries, boiling their drinking water while cooking their daily meals is the best option, at least until they develop their countries. Wood from the forest is free. It's just their time and effort expended.
Shipping freighter loads of filters isn't the solution.

@BRYAN351 If boiling everyones water was more effective than we would be doing it here. Fire is not free, you need fuel. Boiling liters of water 365 days a year is retarded. There is not a single culture in the history of mankind that has actually boiled all of the drinking water they need to survive.
-
@ajerojason give me a break. If they can cook their food, they can boil their drinking water with the same fire. Like I said, fire is FREE. And, how expensive is a pot? They can make one out of clay, or 3 families can chip in together and buy a steel pot.
I'm not downing the water filters. If people want to buy them and use them instead of boiling, fine by me. But if you're talking about shipping freighter loads of them to Africa as a welfare program until the end of time, fuck that shit.

@BRYAN351 Assuming that people will be able to boil all their drinking water is a huge assumption. Boiling liters of water at a time is not simple for people living in absolute poverty. A single pur packet cleans 10 liters of drinking water very quickly....and it uses the same process that municipal water companies use here in the U.S. There is nothing wrong with this product and it has already saved thousands of lives.

I feel happy when he gave a lot of packets to them i hope they use it well :)

4 people who disliked are douche bags that don't care about other countries.

@BRYAN351 yeah thats a good idea but they dont have computers to read ur comment so u need to go over there and tell them lol

Pur Filters don't filter Flouride.
@skg65432, $0.10 is more than you or I donated, and with all the millions of filters that Pur sells, it's adds up to a large sum. BUT, yeah, Pur is pimping their product line. So what? That's capitalism.
However, what I recommend to the poor people in these undeveloped areas, is to simply BOIL YOUR WATER, which will kill the bacteria and parasites. Fire is free, and they use it to cook with anyway.
