1: Download the com.modaco.visionaryplus.r14.apk 2: Connect your phone to your computer 3: Go onto your phone an make sure USB Debugging is on,turn on USB Storage. 4: Once it appears on your computer, drag the APK to the root of your SD card, (Don't put it into a file.) 5: Download Linda File Manager. Find the APK, install it to your phone. 6: Click Temporary root. 7: Download ROM Manager, Click Flash ClockworkMod Recovery, Select HTC G2. Wait for it to Finish. 8: Reconnect your device to the computer, Make sure USB Debugging is still on, an turn the USB Storage back on. 9: Download root_files.zip (DO NOT UNZIP) an drag it to the root of your SD Card. 10: Disconnect the phone 11: Gain Temporary root rights via Visionary. 12 Open the App market an download the Terminal Emulator 13: Open the Emulator an follow these codes in order $ su # cp /sdcard/root_files/perm_root /data/local/perm_root # chmod 777/data/local* # /data/local/perm_root

The first command changes the rights to super user, the second command copies files to the directory /data/local/perm_root, the third command changes the rights of files in data/local, and the last command launches the script. When you go through the process you will get several messages like you see in the blue picture below. Once you see the # again that means you should have perm root. To verify you have Perm root then turn off your phone, an turn it back on by holding power an volume down till you get to a white bootloader screen, in the top corner first line it should say S-OFF, once you get S-OFF you have permeant root. Thank you to the guys at XDA an I give all credit to them for making this great development.

For add ons you can get the new market update.
Download the Second APK file. Put it on the ROOT of the SDCARD, an install it through Linda File Manager.
Video will be posted later on how to

  • This method works perfectly - tried to play around with ADB for ages before I found this video! My advice would be to unzip the .zip folder on your SD card because terminal emulator can't access the perm_root file inside the zip folder. Also, use the keyboard when typing into the emulator - obviously a lot easier!
