Rev, an iPhone/iPod Touch app for observation of real-time OBD-II vehicle data, communicates with 802.11 wireless hardware. This video gives a taste of the available wireless range.

  • Don't know if you guys have played with the idea or not but if possible it would be nice to have REV notify your phone when your car's security system has been activated. (The ultimate car alarm!) Even if the first version doesn't contain it keep it i mind for later updates.

  • This is a "horrible" video. =p

  • This vid went viral on Bucharest

  • @nintendodude01 the cheapest one they have is 89$ the one i have was 99$ and it does the same thing

  • doom239 Would this Program work with the bluetooth OBD2 connectors??

  • wow asshole. you use a $230 adapter that plugs into the OBDII port of your car. the iPhone program, Rev, connect to the adaptoid as it would a wireless network and gathers information in real time through OBDII.

tach is one of the many things it displays. I suggest the Mfg. site before stating stupid shit. if the adaptoid was half price, and it were guaranteed to work with my 08 Jetta, I would get it.

I may still get it ;)

  • Cool stuff. But i keep my Elm 327 until i can get that kind of hardware to link up ipod.

  • Fan-flipping-tastic. I was going back and forth with one of the premier makers of Palm-based OBD-II tools via email when the iPhone SDK first came out asking if they had plans to port their product to the iPhone. Since their target market is auto mechanics and not enthusiasts, they didn't see value in it.

I'm glad someone else took the initiative. I'm also curious as to what pricing is going to look like. And, as many have said and I echo, PLEASE include data logging.

  • how do you hook it up the the car?

  • how can you hook it up to work in your car?

  • Soooo, I can basically see the car rev on my iphone...I don't get it...I'm pretty sure the tach in my car does the same thing...Granted, I can't get out and walk away and see the tach, but then again, why would I want too!
