  • @en9nui I bet you're right... they changed the theme music trying to appeal to a new audience. Guess it had moved to NBC by then (?) & was prob the last opening music version before cancellation. (The one from around 1984 ws lots better IMO.) - Joanna Going... I liked /remember as Lisa on AW, (c1987-1990). Guess she's just one more actress retired into middle-age now. Haven't heard anything about her for a decade or more.

  • I can recognise Joanne and Stu and Stephanie at :35, is that the man that played Vanessa Lewis on Guiding Light's father Henry Chamberlain?

  • The early 80s revised theme wasn't too bad either. P&G of course upgraded all the soap themes within a few years of each other. Now, P&G are out of the soap biz with the bucket kicking of ATWT last year.

  • @warningfellow

But it was better than most of the junk today.

  • @Joanfan29 I agree with you about the "absolutely terrible" part! The theme from the 70s to 1980 was so pretty. They should have stuck with that one.

  • @MrChicago891 You are so right. They should rerun old soaps otherwise what's the point in having a soap network. The only old one they rerun is Ryan's Hope.

  • With its dark, gloomy, almost underground score, this opening seemed like a last ditch effort to serve up Search For Tomorrow as something cool, hip.

  • @satiny1984 Amen!!!!! I mean, afterall, it is a soap network!!! I don't know why they waste their time with 90210 and One Tree Hill when there's honestly millions of hours they could use for old reruns of old and current soaps. And I'm sure true soap fans like us would welcome that more than reruns of shows that are only questionably considered soaps!!!

  • @thug00187 you are completely right!!!!! I could just see Mario and Luigi jumping around to this music....excellent observation, my friend!!!

  • Wow, everybody is so.........white.
