Leaving Minehead in the late afternoon of 14 November in the DMU we look at some recent changes beside the line in a journey to Watchet,. We see the new Morrisons Store now open beside Minehead Station. then the place where the recent mainline stone trains have unloaded their rocks for enlarging sea defences locally, then the completed new house by the level crossing near Dunster Station. We arrive in the dusk at Washford and see the new lights on the tall transmitter aeriels. We pass by the preporations for the major work on the old Mineral line bridge which is soon to start and then pass the paper Mill and see St Decumens Church on the hill surrounded by a plastic shield making it look like a new block of flats! Finally we arrive in the dark at Watchet Station where the lighting is very symbolic of the end of the running season for the WSR.
