Memories! I bought a brand new 1972 in late 1971 when I was 19. It was a 2-door 1600 Corolla, VIN# TE27K033558. . The engine was actually a "hemi" engine: the piston travel was directly up and down and the combustion chambers were hemispherical. The color was as in this video: not orange but persimmon. It came without a radio. Had to put my own in. The seats reclined, which was very handy for a 19 year old. Sold it in 1973 and got a 1973 Mazda RX-3 - rotary.
Those were the days when Toyota made "real" cars...Rear wheel drive with a solid, muscular, rounded shape body. Those front wheel drive things that they make now are sissy cars.
