Thanks! I've gotten the inaccuracy criticism quite a bit. I'm flattered though that people hold it to a higher standard than I do lol = )
The song was "hound dog" by big mama thornton.

Among other things including the fact that it kicks ass is that it was the first form of what could be called pop music and sparked the international music recording industry. it set the prototype for what pop music would always be.

Rhythmic
Taboo-ish
It all started with the blues and everyone has been copying it ever since.

Jazz did evolve from Blues.Jazz was born when Buddy Bolden first stated played Blues on his cornet and mixing it with Ragtime music.

Great - but its unlikely that Jazz or Ragtime evolved out from the blues - they originated in New Orleans in the 19th century, while the blues has its origins in a more rural setting in the Delta. However, they do have some of the same influences like european ballads and african rythims. All the best.
