Mate - with 8ft flood waters raging through the Main Street of our beautiful town, 200+ people, many disabled, having to be airlifted to safety and over 1300 properties & businesses totally wrecked, can you not see why I'm upset by your thoughtless comments??????? After what we've been and are still going through, I hope that you or your family & friends never have to experience it, it's heartbreaking. End of.

its a bad bad situation indeed. but what i have noticed from the news reports is there is a distinct lack of whinging and whining about it being the governments fault for not making better flood defences. or people screamin an cryin in the streets cos their tellys wet. cumbrians are a tough hardy breed an they make me feel proud to be british. chin up guys!
