Curtis Richardson: Killed by Gangs in Los Angeles

Curtis Richardson was a 13-year-old, gunned down outside his house by gang members. Civil rights leaders gathered at the memorial to advocate a 40-hour moratorium on violence. Curtis lived in the middle of gang territory, blocks away from "Crips" territory. This is South Central Los Angeles... where the land is geographically divided by gang colors.After a 35 percent upsurge in homicides this year, including 13-year-old Curtis Richardson on March 17th, civil rights leaders are asking Los Angeles to put violence on hold... starting at 6:01 pm on the day Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated. Now, tragedy is bringing communities together to the face the problems tearing them apart.
