My fourth review on Nintendo Gamecube's 2004 remake of 1998's Playstation and PC game Metal Gear Solid.

I was so close to having perfect video! It freezes up at the last hurdle.

  • do gamecube discs not hold as much memory as playstation 2 dvds? because mgs2 had a lot of space consuming cutscenes as well but it was still on one dvd.

  • A Gamecube disc had the capacity of 1.5GB. A DVD can be anywere between 4.7GB to 17.08GB (if double layered)

  • I like the review, but frankly I can't agree that the game being on 2 discs was a problem. The PSX version was on two discs. It's arguable that the Gamecube Media Discs are a benefit rather than a limitation, as seek time is supposedly less than standard DVD.

  • I don't think it was a problem as in it caused actual damage to the games. As you said it was a two disc game on PS1 and being a two disc game again on a next gen console meant limitations had been shown and that is what I didn't like. I even mention this is more Nintendo's problem though.

  • Great review man!!

  • Thanks. Glad you liked it.

  • in this version does psycomatis still move your controler accross the floor i cant remember if gamecube had duel shock controlers

  • I would rather get an emulator, if I were you.

  • im jst gona but it from ebay and play it on my wii its good thing they play gamecube games lol

  • How come this is so expensive to buy? I can't find it anywhere cheaper than 50?

  • @StotchChaos 17GB? The DVDs can hold from 4,7gb to 8,5gb. While HD DVDs can hold from 15 to 30 gbs.

  • @robbmang Its been a year now. So i dont know how much it would cost you right now. At the time i did saw the price listing for these items and they were worth just that. I would not pay $100 for a game. But thats just me. Once i get into the $200 mark, i would start considering investing on a PS3 or a 360 console. I used to be a vintage gamer. But the asking prices for old games are ridiculous now. So i bought a PS3. Been playing KZ2 multiplayer nonestop. Got it for $30.

  • @WallyWadeMovies not sure where u live but here its rare to get and its worth 100-200 bucks.. ;/
