Keep up the good work, the negative comments come from people that took a little time out from viewing porn or playing world of warcraft .

imagine that thing with Li-Ion batteries and a 100kw engine...screw tesla I wanna be cool and save the planet
-
@DarthFactor it's just a car, man. get over it. if you're really concerned about it, lobby Porsche to build an electric car so people quit gutting their antiques.
-
I like it! I like the idea of an electric Porsche. I produce my own electricity out of burning biogas, some wind turbines and solar panels to provide revenue and to clean my farms and heat up hot water but I do not have any vehicle running on electric. I believe electric vehicles from renewables or nuclear is a fantastic idea, good on you man!

I'm all for electric cars, but not at the cost of a real 914. That car deserved a better fate.
-
its like a golf cart. hahaha i thought you were going to do it like a tesla, which is an actual sports car, not golf cart
-
it's a kit car more than a car. sorry man, but i dnt feel it's car at all
-
engine is like a song in my head!!

Can you lock that hood? I could see someone netting a pretty penny for some of those batteries...

Why all this electric crap if its not even faster than the original fuel engine? What a waste of time and money!

@NorwegianTurboBrains I can answer that in a few ways:
1. If you have to ask in such a way, you probably won't understand the answer
2. Transportation is not all about "faster"
3. The main goal for me was learning / experimentation, which has been a complete success

As if the 914 wasn't an awesome car already. Excellent work on the video, and great job with the car. Incidentally, what sort of range does it get say if you drive with a speed around 60-70kmph on average?

@T3hShaneface 60 km/h is my typical commuting speed. At that speed, I get an efficiency of 250 watt-hours per mile. The range at that speed with my new batteries is about 40 miles - still keeping a 20% reserve to avoid damaging the batteries.
