The power unit of the new 911 GT2 is based on the six-cylinder boxer engine of the 911 Turbo, with air supply by two exhaust gas turbochargers featuring variable turbine geometry (VTG). The 3.6-litre boxer engine achieves its maximum output of 530 bhp (390 kW) at 6500 rpm, with maximum torque of 680 Newton-metres maintained consistently between 2,200 and 4,500 rpm. With its unladen weight of 1,440 kg or 3,175 lb, finally, the 911 GT2 offers a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.72 kg/6.00 lb per horsepower.

  • That guy is Walter Röhrl. Cool German rally driver from the past.

  • @sw1000xg It is about the experience, Porsches are one of the highest perceived and initial quality (J.D. Power) will last you 30 years (its barely uncommon to see a 1975+ Porsche 930 driving around) innovators in terms of technology (911 Turbo is actually one of the eco- cleanest cars in the world) And when you're finished in the track, you can run for some groceries.

    The ZR1 of course, high value relatively low maintenance costs, heritage

  • Wow, amazing car.

  • that driver is old.

  • over the rise @ 0:45 gave me a hard on.....

  • GT2 = fast+soul

    Corvette = just fast

  • the best way i can state this is that a petrol head will buy this kind of car not because they need it or the performace figures on a piece of paper, but because they want it. if a man wants a gtr, he'd damn well get a gtr, if he wants a gt2, he'd get a gt2.

  • Yes they do compare because they are almost the same price! This is the point Porsche lovers don't get that other car makers are beating them the ZR1 and the GTR so Porsche cannot claim the best cars any more... No don't even go there with the "Porsche feel and heritage and the driving experiance" because if you want that you can get Caterhams, Westifileds, Ariel Atoms, the Lotus 2 eleven for all of that...

  • the porsche and corvettes do not compare. the 911 is sophisticated while the corvette uses leaf springs. the corvette is very fast though but the two do not compare

  • does anyone notice that the track is damp?
