Great review! Very thorough, and helped me decide that this is the tent for me. Keep up the great work!

great reveiw also great tent, I have the 9.5x9.5 with vestibule also have the 12x12 love both but hard to find a 12x12 flat spot sometimes ! also the smaller one is warmer, but no longer sold. I would recomend changing your ropes out for some white nylon though. I love that center pole too as you can easily make (or buy from Cabela's) a lantern hook & keep your lantern up high enough to not walk into it all the time.

hey love the vid, i am selling my gas hog rv for a tent. it's just me and my two boys ages 5 an 7. we camp all year long and we are located in northern wyoming. so harsh winters and hot summers. i was thinking of the biggest alknak tent they make, or if u have a better recommendation.

Excellent Job! I watched this about 5 times and went out and set mine up in about 15 min. These tents are awesome and easy to set up and hold heat very well. Thanks for the info, and Cabelas makes great products.
Thanks for posting. I just ordered the 12' X 20' for hunting on our land in WI at the end of Oct for a week and then the third week of Nov.

I just ordered the alaknakII 9.5x9.5
living in it for 7 months april/november
in the pacific northwest.... high altitude.. I appreciate your video.. very helpful in my planning. also have you had heating issues?

I heat with a wood stove. Propane inside the tent will create condensation. Ventilation if important regardless (to avoid fumes and condensation). Roof panel recommended to avoid holes from errant sparks. Use dry wood to avoid creosote (sp?) build up and sparks.
Alaknak does not hold heat as well as standard wall tent. High peak makes using cot desirable if using stove (also gives storage space under cot).

Thank you.
This year while moose hunting we had some severe weather involving wind and rain (the logging company pulled their crews out). It was the 3rd or 4th year for the tent and it did leak after that time and under those severe conditions. I will apply some waterproofing for the first time this summer.
Cheers.
