President Bush says Hurricane Ike is a "huge" storm. The president spoke after being briefed by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and FEMA director David Paulison. (Sept. 13)
It's a shame that so much of our country's problems are laid at President Bush's feet. IMO, much of what the nation has experienced over the last 8 years is due to the collapse of the moral fabric of society in general. Yes, there are some things that I blame him for, such as out of control spending and not articulating well enough why it is imperative that we succeed in the middle east, however I feel that his world vision is going to be vendicated by history. He might not be so dumb after all.
you are are full of it!! i live in channelview and my power just came back. evey one was staged in dallas before the hurricane came. and over 90 people died in cuba and only 6 people have died in houston! dingo prarie obviously is not here. fema has been here. they were here handing out ice water and mre's with in 18 hours of land fall. So to all you obama lovin liberal assclowns and the media can suck it.
I am a Hurricaine Ike survivor. And over 4 million people have no power. Thats everybody along the gulf and beyond. Galveston Island, Houton and Several other Counties. There are concerns that the tap water is contaminated and with no power there is a need for ice to keep perishable food items from spoiling in the fridge.
FEMA apparently is learning as it goes and never had a hurricane to deal with before. They only had A WEEK of warning but no trucks prepositioned with water, ice, generators and fuel to keep the city going. More brilliant planning by fatherland security. They should have asked Cuba which is far more organized.
bush quote: "Obviously people on the ground are sensitive to helping people"..master of english language. Bush is worried "consumers are being gouged" by his oil buddies. Hmm.. that's been happening for years, Bushie. Oh by the way Bush, two days into the storm & FEMA still hasn't arrived with water, ice or fuel. According to dumbass Chertoff, its a "surprise" Houston wasn't distributing it but "these things happen in storms" and trucks are on their way to Houston just like they were in Katrina.
@Sparatan100 hmmm.....have men in black suits paid you a visit yet? lol
