  • That's a good start, but if you have a upgraded sound system, you may have to get a more powerful alternator too.

  • Too short...

  • @erikman89 actually it has 810 cca

  • i just got a yellow top for my car audio and i was wondering if it would be better to hook up my power wire to the top or the side of the battery

  • i have 5 yellow tops hooked up in my lancer...waiting for my alternator to die so i can upgrade it but so far so good! (4 months 12 days in LOL)

  • too bad it only has 650 cca.... weak

  • twice the price and only 3yr warranty........compared to a battery for my vehicle.......5-6year warranty and only 80-100$.

  • @TheTarrMan Indeed. Used to work at an auto garage, had some kid bring his car in three times for an alternator because his stereo kept blowing the stock one, and he kept buying the cheapest part he could find to replace it... Third visit he finally decided we weren't blowing smoke up his arse when we told him he needed a better alternator to run that stereo....

  • I have a 2000 Dodge Neon and I am looking to buy a new battery I asked my local auto parts store if I should get a yellow top since I have a high powered audio system and he said that I would ruin the stock alternator if I bought the yellow top because it's not made to work with it and I would be better off with a red top so I just need some clarification about this now thanks

  • IMO optima batteries are the best, ive had 2 of them. Since 2005. I have never had problems with them.

  • @Monkeypumper420 I have had OPTIMA yellow-top batteries in my vehicles for the past 10 years and have never had problems. In fact, when I've drained my battery they've saved my butt by being able to hold enough of a charge to start the car when I know others would not have.

  • @GarrettJDB, I'd run anything but Optima... They are garbage. I have been though 5 in 4 years. I have two now, and don't expect them to last. If your planning on working the batteries hard, stick to deep cycle flat plate AGM batteries. They stand abuse and the test of time.
