Guam-Steps are being taken to ensure the drug resistant strain of Tuberculosis, that killed at least 4 indviduals in Chu'uk, doesn't make it's way to Guam. Customs and Quarantine Director Bob Camacho says his personnel are already trained to spot individuals that may carry possible symptoms when they arrive at Guam's ports of entry.
Tuberculosis is spread through the air and leaves people with symptoms which include coughing, coughing up blood, fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, and night sweats. According to the Center for Disease Control, the multi drug-resistant tuberculosis that affected residents in Chu'uk is resistant to at least two of the best known anti-TB drugs.
