I spoke with Bethlehem singer/songwriter Vance Gilbert in the Isle of Capri Hotel & Casino parking lot in Westlake, LA.
We talked about being a working musician, race in music, his past, present, and whatever else crossed his mind. The conversation is around 45 min. and is broken into 9 parts.
Part One- Stevie Wonder and Girls in Pajamas
Part Two- Influences
Part Three- Race, Ben Harper, and Crowe Jim
Part Four- "Done My Job For Today"
Part Five- College, Early Years, Losing and Finding A Voice
Part Six- Strengths, Weaknesses, and Words
Part Seven- What You Listen To?
Part Eight- Last Words
Vance is the man. I can watch him perform forever. I got a chance to personally thank him for the gift of his songs last night. He fills me with Joy every time I listen.

This guy is amazing! I saw him at McNeese last week, and he was just as good as the last time I saw him. Thanks for posting this.
