I feel like sportswriters are often the most conservative, dumbest kind of journalist. I mean, if this program were discussing news blogs instead of sports blogs, can you imagine any news writer conducting himself the way Bissinger does here?
Buzz calls out blogs by basically saying they're incendiary and hateful. Uh, roll the tape of this show, buddy Biz. That's you
We mustn't let the dignified sportswriter lose importance! Lest we lose the Jay Mariottis and Woody Paiges of the world. Because then who will pick papers out of a hat to choose awards in baseball?!?!
He might as well be an old redneck on his porch rocking chair yellin' "I fear change! HATE CHANGE"
Costas and Bissinger are so full of shit! It doesn't matter what these guys think anyway, the consumers are voting with their views/dollars and the print media is losing. The blogs are on fire. ESPN will always be around, but how has yahoo survived and thrived? They have adopted the blog format.
dang. this buzz guy's reaction reminds me of some of hte negative disparaging criticism have received from my blogs, from parent, from a few people. Costas is right though; a popular blog typically will have decently logical views!
